About Our Church
Our story, our mission, our beliefs
Glass City Church began in 2009 as a small Sunday evening Bible study in a basement in West Toledo. Over time, the Lord grew our community and deepened our mission. After meeting in several temporary locations, we settled for a time at St. Petri Lutheran Church. In 2023, we moved into our own dedicated space on Anderson Avenue in South Toledo. We are a gospel-centered, community-rooted church committed to seeing lives transformed by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our vision is to be a people transformed by the gospel, rooted in Scripture, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live on mission in Toledo and beyond.
Glass City Church exists to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ through gospel-centered worship, authentic community, and intentional mission.
Our Core Beliefs
At Glass City Church, our faith is grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ and shaped by the truth of Scripture. Here's what we believe:
We believe the Bible is God's inspired, true, and trustworthy Word. It reveals who God is, what He has done, and how we are called to live. Scripture is our authority in all matters of faith and life.
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, loving, and actively involved in His creation.
Every person is created in God's image, but we have all sinned and fall short of His glory. Our sin separates us from God, and we are unable to restore that relationship on our own.
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead to give us eternal life.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone—not by our own works. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven, made new, and adopted into God's family.
The Holy Spirit lives in every believer, empowering us to grow in faith, live in holiness, love others, and carry out God's mission in the world.
The Church is the body of Christ — a global and local family of believers called to worship, grow, and proclaim the gospel. Jesus gave us baptism and the Lord's Supper as signs of His covenant.
Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead, and to renew all things. We believe in the resurrection of the body and eternal life with God in the new heavens and new earth.
